Putting Technology to Good Use
According to the Chapman University Survey of American Fears, 2015, technology issues are at the top.
Amber, a mother of two, also fears the amount of time her kids spend with technology. An owner-writer at Become a Coupon Queen, Amber has always been a saver and believes in the magic of couponing/frugal living. When her boys, a Kindergartener and a 2nd Grader, started school full-time, she looked for ways to make learning fun for them. Her kids, like most other kids these days, are big fans of technology. They love watching TV, playing video games, and using the iPad and laptop. As Amber points out, it is easy to limit screen time when the weather is nice, but when school is in session or it is raining outside, she might as well use the kids’ interest in technology to make them learn.
“We have tried a few apps before, but never found one that both my kids and I enjoyed…until Smartick!”, says Amber. Smartick is a math learning app her kiddos love.
Smartick, Technology that Instills Lifelong Values
As Amber’s kids work through their daily Smartick sessions, she watches them progress at their own pace and levels, helping avoid frustration, building self-confidence and developing a positive attitude toward math. The 15-minutes-a-day approach helped create a study habit at maximum concentration and instilled in her kid’s positive values such as hard work, grit, and strong work ethic.
Her kids love the Virtual World! They enjoy playing the games while Amber enjoys her very own little secret: the fact that these games are helping her kids develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills, while also helping them improve both logical reasoning and reading comprehension.
She also loves the fact that she can stay on top of their progress through the parent dashboard where she receives a summary of the day’s performance as soon as the kids complete their daily session.
Amber is asked every day, “Mom, when can I do Smartick session today?” She feels proud that, with Smartick, her kids are not only putting technology to good use but in the meantime sharpening their math skills.
